A properly trained and certified lash artist  knows how to select and apply  the appropriate eyelash extensions based on the exis length and strength of your natural lashes. Your lash artist's first priority should be to preserve your natural lash and eye health. Your eyelash extensions should never hurt or cause your natural lashes to break off.

Generally they can last anywhere from 2 - 4 weeks. The more acidic (or oily) the skin is, the quicker the extensions will shed. You are guaranteed to have better retention and longer wear if you properly care for your lashes. We provide all new lash clients with a complimentary Cocoa Aftercare Kit and retail Cocoa Lash Shampoo to help keep your lashes in great condition.

If all aftercare instructions are adhered to, you should be able to enjoy lashes year-round, with refills every 2-3 weeks.

No, if applied correctly and safely, they do not. Eyelash extensions simply shed away with the natural lash cycle.

However, if not applied correctly by a qualified artist who uses appropriate lengths and weight, they can cause premature loss and damage.

Full sets range from 2 hours for Natural Volume/ Classic, to 2 hours 40 minutes for Mega Volume. For those time-poor babes, we offer a Kitty Quick Flick half set that takes 90 minutes. 

Refills every 2-3 weeks range from 60-100 minutes dependant on your chosen set and your natural lashline.

Cleaning is a very important part of ensuring the health of your natural lashes. All sorts of nasty conditions can result from a dirty, oily, dusty, or neglected lashline. Cleaning is required daily and mandatory prior to attending your refill appointment.

Yes, you can wear the following. Liquid or water based eyeliner and eyeshadow is perfectly fine. Mascara (other than extension-friendly versions) is highly discouraged as the eyelash extensions will already create the effect of wearing 2-3 coats of mascara. If you do decide to wear makeup, avoid oil based and waterproof products as those will break down the adhesive faster. 

Short answer, NO.

NEVER use regular or waterproof mascara. Only ever use extension-friendly tubing mascara such as LashBox LA's Bottom Line Mascara that we sell in-salon. Even then, only apply to gaps where need be or to the BOTTOM lashes for definition. 

If you feel the need for mascara other than this.. you are waiting too long in between your refills! Normal mascara will forever close your fans up and begin breaking down the adhesive used to bond your extension to your natural lash. 

Salt (in our sweat and the ocean) can break down the adhesive just like oils do. If your gym sessions makes sweat drip down your face or if you’re planning on playing in the ocean, rinse those lashes off right after!

Humidity on the other hand is harder to control - saunas and lash extensions are not friends. If you are travelling somewhere humid, schedule refills sooner together. It's unfortunate, but it's the only way to maintain them. When I lived in Bali, I had refills WEEKLY.

If an unfortunate event occurs and you are crying.....you will probably lose most of your lashes. Salty tears = brittle lashes & weakened adhesive bond.

Absolutely not.

That stretchy strup glue will yank those beautiful lashes off and I guarantee you will come to your next appointment with leftover gooey gunky glue in the roots of your lashes.

Ultimately, eyelash extensions are a luxury service and require ongoing maintenance. if your eyes are free from signs and symptoms of infection and fully recovered from recent eye surgeries or procedures, yu do not have any allergies or sensitivities to acrylates or cyanoacrylate adhesives, you can lay down for a few hours with your eyes closed, and you use a lash safe cleanser for aftercare then you're a great candidate for semi-permanent eyelash extensions.

If you are not prepared to clean them and schedule regular refills then they may not be for you.

Not at all! 

Most people are so relaxed during their appointment that they tend to drift off to sleep on our comfortable full-sized massage bed.
We work gently and carefully, using gentle resting points against your forehead, cheeks and nose.We encourage you to take a lash nap as this helps your lash artist work faster (and apply more lashes) as your movement is minimised during sleep.
Our beauty room is relaxing and comfortable with air conditioning, heating,  relaxing music and aromatherapy.

The choices are endless darling! When you arrive, you will be shown all your options. We stock the leading international brands of highest quality eyelash extensions.
We carry 4 different curls:

• C Curl - perfect for a cat eye effect.
• D Curl - for those who love an ultra curly lash.
• CC Curl - perfectly in between.
• M Curl - a fox eye sweep that is gorgeous and long-lasting.

We also stock each curl in lengths 7mm-14mm and even have 5mm, 6mm and 15mm in our most popular curls.
You can choose the style:

• A nice, even top line creating a very neat look using graduating lengths of 1mm. 
• A wispy, dramatic effect using variations in length to create a Kim-K look. 
• In between - natural variations that imitate natural lashes (but way better!)

Lastly, you can choose your shape:

• Cat eye - longer at the very outer corners
• Kitten - longer at the outer corner, dropping back down to a few short lashes at the very end for a cat eye with "lift" 
• Doll eye - longest toward the middle, creating a pretty, open-eye effect
• Natural - we can follow your natural lash growth, just longer & thicker!

In fact, lash rescues have seen some of our most beautiful and loyal clients go from sad and unhappy with their lashes to thrilled regulars.
We would kindly ask you to contact the original artist so that they may have the chance to rectify the issue. If that does not provide a solution, we generally ask you to send in photos or pop in so as to help us understand the issue and try to establish what we can do for you. You may need a full removal and new set or it may simply take a few refills at Cocoa to get you to where you would like to be.
Your first appointment should be booked as a 'Foreign Fill' which you will see under the category LASH REFILLS (New Clients) when booking online. This allows the extra time normally required when working over another salon's work.
If a regular fill is booked by a new client, we will change your appointment to a Foreign Fill accordingly and advise.

We specialise and pride ourselves in handmade volume lashes - a technique that requires patience, practice and skill. It is true lash art and allows this completely customised look for each client. Many other salons only offer 'pre-made' fans that do not have the ability to wrap the natural lash and can twist, turn, and fall off easily. They are also generally applied too far from the lash line, resulting in droopy lashes - we take our time and apply carefully and as close to the lash line as possible.
